It's nice to put a face to a name, and a name to a brand right?
Or maybe not, maybe you hoped for a team of beautiful fitness people, all glistening with sweat and calories they haven't eaten?
Nope, you just get Matt, on his farm, with his chickens. This is the guy who started this whole thing, the 'thing' being delicious drinks that use egg white, soya milk and nothing but simple, minimalist ingredients.
History will look back at this picture, and your kid's will say- "Mum....Dad, you never drank egg whites until 2017?!"
A pioneer, an icon, a simple farmer with a dream..... and a whole load of chicken poop on his left knee.
This question is only in relation to food however, so makes it a bit easier to chew (we promise!)
So it boils down to this question- would you rather buy PECK as a product that uses local eggs from local free range chickens from local farms? Or would you rather buy a PECK that actively reduces the amount of eggs that go wasted, regardless of where they are from, or how they are farmed?
This could be a choice we have to make. Right now, we will be launching the drinks using only eggs from local farms, but we may have the opportunity to develop a way of using eggs from supermarkets that don't get sold and are close to Best before dates. Obviously this wouldn't mean they are bad, as our pasteurising process gives them a big 'ol...
So we are farmers, that has always been central to who we are and what we do.
We have 16,000 free range chickens, and once we had a lot of eggs that were not suitable for supermarkets. We call them Ugly eggs, not that they have monobrows and too much fake tan, but because they are too big, too small, funny coloured or ... really weird.
So this got us thinking, eggs are PACKED full of goodness, can we make them into a drink? Not only that, but offer people a genuinely different drinks, a protein drink that is dairy free and free from protein powder concentrates, isolates or other guff.
Not only that, but other products, things you can take with you wherever, whenever. Eggs are such a kitchen food, baking ingredient, sauce and dips.... poor ol eggs...
PECK was made after a tiresome effort to find a Protein drink that delivered good nutrition, an ingredient list that is easy to understand, and doesn't taste sickly, overly sweet or just........a little bit gross!
So along came us, with a dream, a passion and a flare for the imagination!
After flare burnt out, and the dust settled on a 'ruff tuff' development process we were left with something truly spectacular- eggs that didn't taste eggy!
In fact it was better than that, they were delicious, easy to understand AND didn't take any cheat routes involving artificial sweeteners, preservatives or other nonsense.
So have it as breakfast to go, post exercise protein hit, tasty snack or just when you're bored of cooking eggs in a pan!
